Skin Needling, also known as Microneedling, is a scientifically driven treatment that meticulously targets the skin's repair system through a dual-action mechanism. The process begins with a precision-engineered device, outfitted with a series of ultra-fine, sterile needles. As this device glides over the skin, it creates micro-punctures at a controlled depth. These tiny punctures achieve two primary objectives:

1. The creation of controlled microchannels in the skin causes localised and controlled damage without substantially affecting the structure of the epidermis.

2. These micro-punctures trigger the skin's natural healing response, that awakens the fibroblast that lies within the deeper layers of the skin, prompting it to produce new collagen and elastin fibres. These proteins are the scaffolding of the skin, vital for its elasticity, strength, and youthful appearance.

BUT, Skin Needling doesn't just increase collagen formation, it also minimises fine lines and wrinkles, improves texture and tone, reduce pore size & improve skin texture, reduces the appearance of acne scars, surgical scars, and stretch marks. It can also help in evening out hyperpigmentation and melasma.

Beauty Worx Skin Studio also doesn't use numbing cream. Why? Because it isn't necessary and can actually create an adverse reaction in your skin due to the unwanted absorption of chemical residues from numbing creams, possibly hindering the healing process or affecting the skin's response to post-treatment products.

Please be aware that Skin Needling is not recommended for people who have an impaired skin barrier (like open acne wounds), or sensitive and/or reactive skin or skin that is not currently using products prescribed by a Beauty Worx Skin Studio Skin Therapist.

In some cases, your skin may need some healing and preparatory work prior to starting Skin Needling (as can be the case with conditions like cystic acne). In this instance we would call on the support of treatment modalities like LED Facial Treatments

At Beauty Worx Skin Studio we add relaxation to all of our Advanced Skin Treatments. While your treatment is in progress you will be cocooned in our soft heated treatment bed with dimmed lights and tranquil salon music in the background.

During the procedure, a state-of-the-art microneedling device will be gently passed over your skin, creating tiny punctures that are almost imperceptible. While you may experience a sensation similar to light sandpaper moving across the skin, discomfort is minimal. The entire process typically lasts about an hour, depending on the area being treated.

Post-treatment, it's normal to notice some redness and sensitivity, akin to a mild sunburn, but these effects usually subside within a few days. We recommend that you take time out to yourself after the treatment and avoid the sun, sweating, swimming and anything that is heat inducing.

During the days after your treatment your skin may start to feel a little dry and tight - this is the perfect time to use your Complimentary Sheet Mask that was given to you after your treatment. And most importantly it is important you wear SPF EVERYDAY! As we don't want to undo all the hard work your skin is doing!

In the following weeks, as your skin undergoes its natural healing process, you'll begin to observe a noticeable improvement in texture, tone, and overall appearance. With each session, the results become more pronounced, revealing a smoother, firmer, and more youthful complexion. Although Skin Needling is an advanced clinical skin treatment, your treatment is performed in the comfort of our heated spa bed so you can relax in comfort while our expert therapist guides you through each step. Your treatment includes facial cleansing and post treatment products including SPF. We will also send you home with a Hydrating Sheet Mask and instructions.

Skin preparation is required for this advanced treatment, we will assess your skin health prior to commencing your needling journey to ensure that your home care regime is preparing and supporting your skin in the best possible way. A treatment program may look like 4-6 needling treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart, though this will be dependent on your individual skin needs.

Post treatment we recommend booking in for an Enzyme LED Facial treatment 5-10 days after. We will treat your skin with a gentle enzyme exfoliation and LED Light therapy to amplify your results.
